Zhirong SUN,
Professor
Zhirong Sun obtained his BS from Tsinghua University in 1970. He became
a lecturer in the Automation Department of Tsinghua University after graduation.
He has taught in the Department of Biological sciences & Technology,
Tsinghua University since 1984. He became an associate professor in Bioinformatics
in 1990. He has been a full professor since 1998. He was a Visiting Scientist
at Birkbeck College in 1992-1993, and a Visiting Scientist in UIUC in
1997-1998.
Research Interests
The research interests of Professor Sun are mainly in the field
of bioinformatics. His research projects have been directed towards
1) protein structure prediction and drug molecular design;
2) protein subcellular location;
3) molecular evolution;
4) microarray data mining;
5) transcription factor database construction and analysis;
6) gene function prediction and genome research;
7) Genome analysis.
